Welcome to Inlet

How It Started
Inlet began as an inkling of an idea; a hope for a more authentic way of providing pediatric speech and language therapy. With each passing year of my role as a school-based SLP, I acquired both depth and breadth of my clinical skills, collaborated with colleagues and parents, and supported children within and across their school days. Nevertheless, I was often left with a relatively shallow understanding of my students' full personhoods, including their experiences at home and in their communities. The complexities and constraints of the school environment resulted in fewer opportunities for building more meaningful relationships with students and their families. In what has now become Inlet, I imagined a practice in which my clients and their caregivers could move through a calmer and more focused channel of care, communication and change. I offer Inlet Speech & Language Therapy Services as a sheltered space for learning and growth.
Meet Your Clinician
While being with children has always brought joy and lightness to my work, it was my early fascination with language and the brain that led me to speech-language pathology. As an undergraduate and graduate student at McGill University, I studied psychology and education with a steadfast commitment to research and reflection. My areas of interest included cognition, language development, and educational philosophy. These interests further coalesced around the broader concept of communication while working as a pharmaceutical copywriter in Manhattan. During those year, I learned how to analyze language and create messaging in a whole new way. Working in advertising was challenging and exciting, but in the end, it lacked real purpose for me. Once I realized the field of speech-language pathology allowed me to pursue my interests in a more meaningful context, I changed course and completed a clinical program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. I became a certified SLP in 2012 and to this day feel truly grateful that my growth as a clinician goes hand in hand with honoring and supporting children. Over the years I’ve developed my evidence-based practice through a commitment to continued learning and client-centered care. I bring a calm demeanor, inquisitiveness, and delight to my practice. Outside of Inlet, I enjoy bird-watching in my backyard, walks around Green Lake, and spending time with family and friends.
